In this section you will find resources chosen by our Headteacher to assist with  you and your children/s balance of  mental health and wellbeing.

Mental Well-being
Welcome to our support page for mental health and well-being, we hope you find this page a useful guide and tool to support you and your child.  Please find below specific weblinks with information.

We all have to consider our mental health, which is about our feelings, our thinking, our emotions and our moods.  Coronavirus, as well as other pressures, is impacting all of our lives.  Emotional well-being is about our ability to understand, control and express our emotions in a healthy way.  Looking after our mental health is important: the NHS states that evidence suggests there are five steps we can take to improve our mental health and well-being.

1. Connect with other people: good relationships are important. Talk, listen, make the most of technology to stay in touch with family and friends, send someone a letter/email, eat a meal together, switch off your gadgets.
2. Be active: this is great for your mental health as well as your physical health and fitness.
3. Keep learning: research shows that learning new skills can also improve your mental health and well-being. Try something new, work on a project or read a book
4. Give to others: thoughtful acts can help improve both yours and the recipient’s mental health and well-being. Say thank you, ask someone how they are, offer to help, pay someone a compliment, do something nice for someone, or simply smile.
5. Take notice: by paying attention to your feelings, noticing the world around you, stopping and listening, being mindful, you can improve your mental health and well-being.

The government has also produced advice for parents and carers on looking after the mental health and wellbeing of children or young people during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

There are also a number of agencies that can support with mental wellbeing in the local community, and links to these can be found below.  Please note, Conway Primary School is not the owner or creator of most of the resources listed below, and it should be noted that content is used at your own risk.
