Loss, Bereavement and Emotional Wellbeing Support

Loss, Bereavement and Emotional Wellbeing Support

On this page you will find information, guidance, and useful support services to help children, families, and carers navigate experiences of loss, bereavement, and emotional wellbeing.

Dealing with Loss, Grief and Worry

We recognise that challenging circumstances and significant life events can have a profound impact on children, young people, and their families. Experiences of illness, bereavement, family change, or uncertainty can lead to feelings of anxiety, sadness, worry, and loss.

Children may experience a wide range of emotions and may not always be able to express how they are feeling. They can also be affected by the concerns and anxieties of those around them. For children who have experienced a bereavement, or who are coping with the illness or loss of a loved one, these emotions may become even more difficult to manage.

At Conway Primary School, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing of our pupils and their families. We understand that grief affects everyone differently, and there is no right or wrong way to feel. Our aim is to provide a caring, compassionate environment where children and families can access support when they need it.

To help during difficult times, we have gathered a range of information and signposting to organisations and services that can provide practical advice, emotional support, and specialist assistance.

Please remember that you are not alone.
If you or your family require support, guidance, or someone to talk to, we are here to help and will do our best to connect you with the appropriate services and resources.
