P.S.H.E (including H.R.E*) involves all aspects of school life. We aim throughout the primary phase to provide a P.S.H.E curriculum that will ensure children grow in confidence and recognise their own worth and the worth of others. The pupils learn basic rules and skills in order for them to lead confident, healthy independent lives. They learn about their own and others feelings and become aware of the views, needs and rights of others. The children are encouraged to take responsibility for themselves and their environment and with support become responsible, happy citizens.

At Conway Primary School we provide a mindful approach to the teaching of P.S.H.E and children are provided with time both at the start and end of lessons to reflect. We work as a class to create a safe space for discussion, listening to others and sharing our own ideas and opinions.

At Conway we celebrate a number of enrichment days that support our P.S.H.E curriculum. This year we will be celebrating Anti-Bullying Week, Comic Relief, Odd Sock Day and many more national events.

*H.R.E (Health & Relationship Education)

Relationship Education will put in place the key building blocks of healthy, respectful relationships focusing on family and friendships, in all contexts, including online. The children will be taught what a relationship is, what friendship is, what family means and the many forms families come in. In an age-appropriate way, the curriculum will cover how to treat each other with kindness, consideration and respect.

Teaching about Mental Health and Well-being is a priority and our PSHE/HRE Curriculum will provide opportunities for our children to be aware of this and to receive support if needed.
